Create a 5-by-5 grid on paper. Write the numerals 1-5 in red up the left side and in blue across the bottom. Make a happy face in the bottom left corner. This is the starting place. Your child will count squares and move across the bottom and then count squares and move up. Give your child these directions:
Animal #1: Count and move two squares to the right. Count and move two squares up to the top.
Animal #2: Count and move five squares to the right. Count and move three squares up to the top.
Animal #3: Count and move three squares to the right. Count and move four squares up to the top.
