Invite your child to stand behind you. Face toward the front so your child sees your back. Say: I am a robot. I can make four different moves. Demonstrate the following movements:
- I can go forward. (step forward)
- I can turn and look to the left. (turn and look left)
- I can step backward. (step backward)
- I can turn and look to the right. (turn and look right)
Give additional robot commands for your child to do independently (assist as needed):
- Go forward 2 steps.
- Turn to your right.
- Go backwards 3 steps.
- Turn to your left.
- Go forward 3 steps.
- Turn to your right.
- Go backward 2 steps.
