- Cut a 1-inch by 10-inch strip of paper. Use a marker to divide the strip evenly into 10 boxes. Write numerals 1-10 inside each box, starting with 1 at the bottom and ending with 10 at the top.
- Write each numeral 1-10 on a small square of paper.
- Place the numerals in a paper bag or bowl.
- Have your child remove one square at a time and place a clothespin on the matching numeral on the number line.
- Continue until all cards are removed.
- Each time your child removes a numeral from the bag, ask: How many spaces up or down will you move the clothespin?
